What is Panchaguna Oil?

Kalarigram Admin

Panchaguna oil, also known as Panchaguna Taila, is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal oil used externally to ease inflammation, muscle stiffness, and joint pain. It’s made by infusing five powerful herbs into a base of nourishing sesame oil, along with natural wax, camphor, and aromatic resins. The preparation is a slow, careful process, herbs are gently simmered in oil until all moisture evaporates, and then essential oils like eucalyptus and turpentine are added for an extra therapeutic boost.

For centuries, Panchaguna oil has been valued for helping with:

  • Rheumatism and osteoarthritis

  • Sprains and muscle injuries

  • Earaches and minor burns

  • Skin wounds and swelling

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this oil balances Vata and Pitta doshas through its warming, soothing qualities. Regular use not only brings relief from discomfort but also supports healthy circulation, nourishes tissues, and helps keep joints moving freely.
